William Allen Hamilton was born on July 25, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.    He attended Catholic school and served as an altar server.
He enlisted in the Navy SeaBees from 1946-1948.  William “Bill” met Eleanor Knutson on a blind date set up by her best friend and his best friend.   They married on November 19, 1949 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Bill worked for the Milwaukee Rail Road as a telegraph operator and later as maintenance supervisor at the Iowa School for the Deaf.
In 1963, with seven children, Bill & Eleanor moved to Missouri and bought a farm in the Jamesport – Hickory area.  There they had four more children.  Bill and his wife Eleanor raised their eleven children on their farm.   In addition to organic truck gardening, Bill also worked for Freddy Keys as a hired hand and milked cows from 1964 – 1977.  Bill then went on to work at Sunneyview Nursing Home as Maintenance Supervisor from 1977-1989.
Bill was a very loving and devoted husband and father.  A parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Trenton, Bill was a devout Catholic and loved his Catholic faith.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Harry H. and Ann G. (Wernimont) Hamilton; his brother, Harry H. Hamilton, Jr.; his daughter, Mary T. (Hamilton) Brill; and his grandson, Danny Brill.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hamilton; sons, Michael G. Hamilton of Corpus Christi, TX; Joseph A. Hamilton of Gilman City, MO; John G. Hamilton of Richmond, TX; James G. Hamilton of Kansas City MO; daughters, Anna M. (Hamilton) Brill of Savannah, MO; Rose M. (Hamilton) Bingham of Galt, MO; Rita M. Hamilton of Trenton, MO;  Monica M. (Hamilton) Beck of Trenton, MO;  Ellen M. (Hamilton) Burton of Sugar Land, TX; and Maria G. (Hamilton) Anim-Kwapong of Missouri City, TX.
Bill is also survived by 27 grand children and 13 great grand children.
