Angelee Gibson, an 84-year-old resident of Black Canyon City, AZ passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ.  

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Edinburg Baptist Church.  Burial will be at the Edinburg IOOF Cemetery under the direction of the Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Gibson was born on February 19, 1928, in Grundy County, the daughter of Clifford E. and Clara E. Ferguson Stevenson.  She graduated from Trenton High School in 1945. She was married in Princeton on Feb. 22, 1947 to Oral Gibson. They spent most of their married lives in Grundy County.  Angelee was employed by Hy-Vee Food Stores for 21 years.  Following retirement, she and Oral were active in their church, in craft shows, and were avid gardeners. Two years ago she moved to Black Canyon City, AZ to be closer to her children and grandchildren.  Angelee joined the Edinburg Baptist Church in 1941 and served in various roles including Sunday School Director, Teacher, and Women’s Missionary Work. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Black Canyon City, AZ during her time in Arizona.

She is survived by two sons, James Gibson and his wife, Alice, of Black Canyon City, AZ and John Gibson and his wife, Regetta, of Shawnee, OK; one daughter, Karen Janzen and her husband, Tom, of Hutchinson, KS; one brother, Glen Stevenson, Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Tressa Jumps, Taryn VanderPyl, Lori Eropkin, and Matthew Gibson; one step-granddaughter, Aimee Janzen; Two great-granddaughters, Mia Whalen and Elizabeth Eropkin; and three step-great-grandchildren, Jamyson, Kaitlyn and Reaghyn Wise.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, her husband, Oral, two brothers, Dale Stevenson and J.T. Stevenson, and one sister Zelpha Clarkson.

The family has suggested memorials to the Edinburg Baptist Church Camp Fund.  They may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P. O. Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
