Deward Critten, a 90 year old Trenton resident passed away at 6:14 p.m., Monday, May 07, 2018 at Carriage Square Nursing Home in St. Joseph, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery of Chula.  A visitation is scheduled from 10:00 until service time Friday, with open visitation to begin at 10:00 Thursday morning at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Mid-American Trials Team Club and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  The family would like everyone attending the funeral to be in casual clothing and motorcycles are welcome.
Deward Wayne Critten was born August 8, 1927 in Jamesport, MO to James Carl and Laura Angeline (Watkins) Critten.  He graduated from Jamesport High School class of 1945.  On December 14, 1952 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Kinney in Trenton.  Deward worked for W. R. Grace and Davison Chemical in Trenton before moving to Perry, IA in 1957 to work for the same company.  In 1965 he and Marilyn moved back to Trenton where he worked with Hoffman and Reed.  In 1981 Deward became plant operator for Trenton Municipal Utilities.  All his life Deward enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles.
Surviving relatives include his wife Marilyn, daughter Carol Perry and husband Mike of Stewartsville, MO, a sister Emily Alice Harrington of Jamesport, MO and a grandson Gabe Perry and wife Breanne of Raytown, MO.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and a brother Marvin Critten.
