Bertha M. Critten, 90, a resident of Buffalo, passed away Wednesday, March, 16, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22nd at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be at Sandbank Cemetery in Laredo, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Blue Grass Lions Club.
Born on July 9, 1925 in Laredo, Missouri, Bertha was the daughter of James and Emma (Tharp) Grimes. On February 6, 1946 in Trenton, Missouri, she married Donald W. Critten. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1972.
Bertha worked as a visiting home health aide for 25 years. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, playing cards, especially Gin Rummy, and mushroom hunting. Bertha loved watching John Wayne and other westerns.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Sharon Kay Ricketts of Davenport and Melinda (Kevin) Dusenberry of Montpelier; sons, Ray (Constance) Critten of Davenport, Donnie Jay (Vickie) Critten of Ottumwa, Darrell (Claudean) Critten of Montpelier and James (Susan Leonard) Critten of Davenport; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, three sisters, and a son-in-law, Charles Ricketts.
