David Lee Hamilton, a 65 year old former Trenton, MO resident passed away at 5:01 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at K.U. Med Center.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 4:00pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.  Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.  A visitation is scheduled from 3:00pm until service time Saturday.  Open visitation will begin at 9:00am Friday morning.  Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
David Lee Hamilton was born February 15, 1950 in Trenton, MO to Basil Rex and Gloria Jean Hamilton. On June 30, 1972 he entered active duty with the United States Army retiring on September 30, 1997 at the rank of Sergeant Major (SGM).  On April 30, 2004 he was united in marriage to Anne McIntyre Cassidy in Kansas City, MO.  David was a member of the V.F.W., D.A.V. and the Elk’s Lodge.
Surviving relatives include his wife Anne Hamilton of Kansas City, MO, a daughter Shelly Sanders of Centralia, MO, step-son Terry Casey of Kansas City, a step-daughter Caroline Lupton of Olathe, KS, a sister Roberta Patton of Independence, MO, brothers John Hamilton of St. Louis, MO, Jim Hamilton and wife Sharon of Trenton, and Junior Hamilton and wife Denise of Tindall, MO, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, a brother Jerry Dean Hamilton, a sister-in-law Penny Hamilton, a brother-in-law Melvin Patton and a nephew Paul Baker.

We are sad to learn of David's passing as I was in his brother John's class through all of our Trenton education and David was just one year behind me and I only have wonderful memories of moments we shared growing up.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.
