Jake was more than a fishing buddy. We shared many smiles and outright laughs about the human condition. I will miss him.

Dear Christine and Maile,
I knew Jake through Sandra and John and flyfishing here on the Vineyard. Jake was a totally unique and special human being in every way and was always generous in sharing his passion about fishing. Such sadness to hear of his death
Prayers and love to you both.
Sandy

I was at the International Fly Tying Symposium when I heard of Jake's passing. I can honestly say that many of us there were upset and distracted by the news.
I first met Jake about 10 years ago at a fly fishing show and we soon became friends. I could call Jake anytime I felt the need to talk or if I had a question or problem. He taught me a lot about the fly fishing business and the people associated with it. Jake's enthusiasm and zest for all things fly fishing will be greatly missed throughout the fly fishing community. I will miss his humor and wit as he was one of the good guys that I always looked forward to seeing.
RIP Jake,
Your friend,
Bill Murphy

To Williams wife and family our deepest condolences to you all. I grew up with Tom, Robert and Richie but knew all Jake's family for many years. If you knew one Jacobson you were friends with the entire family for life. You knew the love for friends , family and living life to the fullest that they all possess. I'm sure everyone was blessed to have known William and that he will be greatly missed by family and friends.

We knew Jake through Alex Preston and flyfishing here on the Vineyard. We came from the Netherlands each year to fish the Vineyard and we made sure that we fished with Jake a few nights. He always came to our (Alex Prestons") house and brought us hot dogs and a lot of stories! One year he came to MV, just to bring me a rod. Such sadness to hear of his death. We will miss him

Was very saddened to learn of Jake's death. Met him more years ago than I can recall, and whether we ran into each other at fly show, a ferry, or at a fly fishing event, he was always a delight to chat with. Rest in peace my friend.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Jake. I received word today on Jake's passing from Ernie Nemeth of Stowe, Vermont. I had the pleasure of being one of Jake's friends and co-workers when I lived in Stowe and he influenced me to become a better skier and person. Although I had lost direct contact with Jake, I would ask Ernie about him on those occasions when I would see Ernie. All I can tell you is all of my memories of Jake evoke smiles and fun times as he definitely was a very unique character and friend.
