MATHEWS, James E. Of Sharon, March 7 age 93. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Botana). Loving son of the late Charles and Bridget Mathews. Devoted father of Charles P. Mathews and his wife Maryann of Hopkinton, NH. Cherished brother of the late Charles H. Mathews and Mae Fitzpatrick. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, inlaws and friends in the community. Funeral from the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common St, WALPOLE Monday morning at 9 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at our Lady of Sorrows Church, Sharon at 10. Visiting hours Sunday evening from 4-8. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. James was a retired Sharon Police Officer for 34 years. He was a WW II Army Veteran who served with distinction in the 733rd F.A. Battalion, 3rd US Army, Bronze Star recipient and he was a Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor.
